Holly's Helping Wings
This year, visitors to Santa will receive a unique children's book developed by Kiwi Property. As a dedicated partner to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, we have created "Holly's Helping Wings" - a Christmas story about kindness and connection.
This children’s book tells the story of Holly, the happiest little Kākāpō bird in Aotearoa. As Christmas approaches, Holly is full of festive cheer — but when she notices one of her friends feeling down, she decides to lend a helping wing. What follows is a heartwarming journey of kindness, creativity, and connection, as Holly and her friends discover the true meaning of giving.
"Holly's Helping Wings" has been written and developed to support emotional literacy and encourage open conversations between whānau and tamariki this Christmas.
Learning about emotions and recognising how they affect us is part of developing emotional literacy, helping children to better express their feelings – and consider those of others. As adults, when we model talking openly about our feelings, we help create a sense of safety for our tamariki to talk about their own feelings, just like Holly does.
