History Walls - The story behind Sylvia Park

Step into our in-centre history walls, where we bring together the story of the land Sylvia Park sits on.

From its earliest beginnings, including its connection to local iwi and being an army base, through to its different chapters over time, the installation will take you on a journey from past to present, and into the future.

Designed as a visual experience, the walls combine imagery and short-form storytelling to create a moment to pause, reflect, and see Sylvia Park from a new perspective.

To mark 20 years, we’ve spoken to people who have been part of Sylvia Park from the beginning. From retailer staff to team members, each and every one one of them has seen the centre grow and change over time.

They have shared their experiences, favourite memories, and some of the moments that make Sylvia Park what it is today.
