WHERE'S HOLLY'S HAT
This year, visitors to Santa will receive a unique children's book developed by Kiwi Property. As a dedicated partner to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, we have created "Where's Holly’s Hat" - a Christmas story with a difference. This children’s book tells the story of Holly, the happiest little Kākāpō bird in Aotearoa. Holly experiences all kinds of feelings when she loses her special Christmas hat and her new bush friends help her to name, understand and manage these emotions.
Learning about emotions and recognising how they affect us is part of developing emotional literacy, helping children to better express their feelings – and consider those of others. As adults, when we model talking openly about our feelings we help create a sense of safety for our tamariki to talk about their own feelings, just like Holly does.
"Where's Holly’s Hat" has been written and developed to support emotional literacy and encourage open conversations between whānau and tamariki this Christmas.
